One of the province’s most iconic landmarks, and a favourite destination for visitors and residents alike is marking a milestone this year.
Parks Canada is celebrating the 50th anniversary of Cape Spear becoming part of the vast national network of parks and historic sites with a new Facebook page and events planned throughout the tourist season.

Acting manger of visitor experience and National Historic Sites Pascale Gerdun says they have a lot of fun and exciting experiences planned for visitors this year.
She says they’re coming up with a number of ways to help people connect to the site through a number of interpretive and immersive programs.
While people are welcome to visit any time of year, the site officially opens with full programming starting June 1st.
