A wanted man who had managed to keep a low profile for about a week wound up in the arms of the law yesterday.
RNC issued an arrest warrant for the 33-year-old last Monday after he assaulted a woman at a home in the east end. He took off on foot with the search effort by officers and the canine unit at the time coming up empty.
He was on the lam until about 4:30 yesterday afternoon when an officer on patrol near Blackwood Place spotted him walking down the street.
The man bolted again, with the officer running behind him. The chase came to an end as he was trying to climb a fence.
He’s facing charges of assault and breach of probation. He was held for court.
