The 2024 KIOTI National, part of the Grand Slam of Curling and held in St. John’s last fall, has been named as Event of the Year at the MPI Atlantic Canada Awards in Halifax.
The KIOTI National was held over a six-day period at the Mary Brown’s Centre in St. John’s from November 26 to December 1, attracting more than 100,000 curling fans.
The CEO of The Curling Group, Nic Sulsky, says The KIOTI National in St. John’s was the most attended event in Grand Slam of Curling history.
The CEO of St. John’s Sports & Entertainment, Brent Meade, says the award recognizes the collaboration, creativity and energy that came together to present one of the most memorable and engaging events in the province’s sporting history.
The KIOTI National was chosen from a list that included the 2024 JUNO Awards, the ROCKWOOL Canada Sail Grand Prix and OCEANS 2024 Halifax.
