St. John’s native Abby Newhook has been drafted into the Professional Women’s Hockey League.
Newhook was drafted 34th overall by the Boston Fleet during last night’s PWHL draft.
She previously played for Boston College in the NCAA, scoring nine goals and 17 assists in 36 games this past season.
Newhook becomes the second athlete from this province to be drafted into the PWHL – the other being Maggie Connors who plays for the Toronto Sceptres.
