The opposition says the federal government’s plan for consultation on the recreational cod fishery is too little, too late.

Fisheries Minister and St. John’s East MP Joanne Thompson did not change anything with this year’s food fishery, even though the total allowable catch for the commercial fishery was doubled.
Wakeham says other Atlantic provinces can fish every day of the week, but once again Newfoundland and Labrador is limited to a Saturday-Monday period.
