The organization which speaks for parents in the secondary school system does not think the cell phone restrictions will be an issue the next school year.
Students faced a different world when they returned to class after Christmas as the devices had to be out of sight and out of mind during the school day.
There was plenty of grumbling in the early going, but a survey of school administrators done by the provincial government in April and May shows that it was mission accomplished with improvements in student engagement and social interaction.
Don Coombs, President of the Newfoundland and Labrador Federation of School Councils, says cell phones will not be an issue when kids go back in September.
