An iconic artist from this province will have his name on an art gallery opening this afternoon in Holyrood.
It’s grand opening day for the Gerry Squires RCA Memorial Gallery, located in the Holyrood Heritage Society Museum and Gift Shop.
Squires was named to the Order of Canada in 1999. Born in Change Islands, Squires moved to Holyrood in the early 1980s, where he remained for the rest of his life.
Premier John Hogan is among those who will be in attendance today.
