The lawyer for one Waterford Hospital patient accused of murdering another is still awaiting key pieces of the evidence puzzle.
Mark Gruchy represents 30-year-old Tom Parsley, who was charged with attempted murder after the incident at the hospital on December 19th of last year.
But the victim, 66-year-old Tom Poole, died in hospital two days later, resulting in the upgrade to second-degree murder.
Court heard yesterday that the defence is waiting for evidence related to witness statements and the medical examiner’s report.
Parsley was already facing charges of fraud, as well as assault and property damage involving another incident at the Waterford two months before the homicide.
All of his charges have now been postponed until early September to ensure all sides have the required files to proceed.
