A Harbour Grace woman charged with the first-degree murder of a Spaniard’s Bay man will remain in custody for the foreseeable future.
Twenty-eight-year-old Stephanie Noftall is one of a trio arrested in the alleged planning and killing of a 42-year-old man in Bay Roberts last fall.
The victim’s remains were found September 30th in a blue pickup that had been set on fire and left to burn.
Five days later RCMP surrounded a house in Harbour Grace where they arrested Noftall, 34-year-old Terry Cole of Carbonear, and 41-year-old Matthew Kavanagh without incident.

The three have been jockeying for bail since their arrests, with only Kavanagh currently enjoying freedom, albeit on a short leash with strict conditions.
He was briefly returned to jail for an alleged breach in May, but beat that charge and was released again.
Noftall was also free on bail but it was revoked when she allegedly ran afoul of her conditions, and lost a key surety to vouch for her.
That was confirmed in Supreme Court this morning, with the defence consenting to continued custody for the time being.
Cole, meanwhile, has been in jail from the start, and will remain that way after his bid for bail was denied on Monday.
The next key dates in the case are in August when a preliminary inquiry will determine if there’s enough evidence to send all three to trial for murder.
