More cabin owners are being told to evacuate due to the wildfire near Chance Harbour.
Forestry officials say cabin owners in the Great Chance Area should leave by mid-morning as the blaze has potential to spread due to northwesterly winds in the forecast.
While there is no immediate threat, residents of Jamestown and Winter Brook are also urged to be prepared in the event of an evacuation.
Fire suppression efforts will continue today in the air and on the ground with winds expected to shift to more favourable conditions later this evening.
