Two adults and one teenager in Sheshatshiu have been arrested and charged after barricading themselves inside a home in the town on Monday.
The RCMP went to the home around 1:30 p.m. Monday to arrest three people as part of an investigation into an assault that happened on July 5. The accused are a 33-year-old man, a 22-year-old woman, and a 15-year-old.
However, police say the accused refused to exit the home and barricaded themselves inside.
A lengthy negotiation process began.
The teen left the home and was arrested first. The two adults peacefully surrendered themselves to police just before 4:30 p.m.
The young person faces a single charge of assault with a weapon.
The woman faces charges of assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, and resisting arrest. The man has been charged with two counts of assault with a weapon, aggravated assault, and resisting arrest.
All three appeared in court yesterday.
