NL Health Services says renovations are being carried out to its building on Mundy Pond Road to better accommodate the services provided there.
Last week, city council approved an application from Morgan Enterprises Limited for the building which operates a walk-in clinic and harm reduction clinic and has been home to a newcomer health clinic since 2023 when the service moved from Churchill Square.
NLHS says the renovations are being done to improve the clinical environment and “ensure that the space meets both current and future needs.”
The newcomer clinic will occupy a portion of the building, while the community walk-in and harm reduction clinics will remain open and operational.
The health authority says it’s all part of ongoing changes to the health care system in the metro region which will include two new urgent care centres in St. John’s and Mount Pearl, set to open later this year.
