RCMP arrested a 23-year-old man and seized a quantity of cocaine after a foot chase through Sheshatshiu Wednesday evening.

RCMP had attempted to arrest Benjamin Gregoire, who is known to them, for failing to comply with the conditions of a release order, when he took off on foot.

Police gave chase and eventually arrested him without further incident.

A quantity of cocaine was seized, and Gregoire was held pending a court appearance on charges of resisting arrest, possession of cocaine, and possession for the purpose of trafficking.

He’s also charged with failing to comply with the condition of a release order.
