RCMP arrested a 27-year-old man in Pool’s Cove on the Connaigre Peninsula on the weekend after he failed to pull his motorcycle over for them.
RCMP say Trent Poole was arrested on Sunday and charged with dangerous driving and flight from police.
An officer noticed Poole, who was known to be driving without the proper licence, insurance and registration, driving through a construction zone.
The officer tried to pull the motorcycle over, but it sped away, weaving in and out of traffic.
Police decided not to pursue since the asphalt was torn up and the construction zone was all gravel.
The driver was located at his home in Pool’s Cove some time later with the help of local residents. In addition to the criminal charges, Poole was also ticketed for driving without a licence, driving an unregistered vehicle, and driving without insurance.
The motorcycle was seized and impounded.
