Capital Home Hardware men’s crew won not only the Royal St. John’s Regatta this year, but they also took Placentia and Harbour Grace to claim the triple crown.

They also did it last year but nobody is quite certain where the triple crown of rowing trophy is.

Morgan White of the Capital Home Hardware crew says they enlisted some financial support created a new version of the trophy, which arrived the night before the Royal St. John’s Regatta.

He says it’s important to recognize and encourage younger rowers to take up the sport.

“Harbour Grace is a great regatta so we really wanted to give back to them; we love rowing in Placentia and we want to draw more crews out year after year.”
