A large swath of downtown St. John’s will be closed to traffic for the better part of the day because of the Canada Summer Games.

As of now, New Gower Street from Waldegrave to Barter’s Hill will be off limits, Queen’s Road from the City Hall Parking Garage to Long’s Hill will close, Adelaide Street from Water Street to New Gower closes, Water Street from Adelaide to Prescott is off limits, Queen Street will be closed as well as George Street, and part of Duckworth shuts down.

The roads will reopen at 11:00 tonight.
