Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services is letting people know about the services available in Conception Bay North as several communities are evacuated from their homes due to an intense wildfire burning in the area.

Fraser Fry, Senior Operations Officer for the Eastern Rural Zone, stresses that all emergency departments in the region are open, and if people are in need of urgent medical attention they can call 911.

Fry says services are also available in Carbonear at the evacuation centre for those who have registered with the Red Cross.

He says once people are registered there are primary health services, community supports, and mental health and addictions services.
