Despite cooler temperatures and a very brief rainfall on Friday, the provincial government has decided to extend the province-wide ban on all off-road vehicles on forested land where the fire hazard index is high.
The temporary ban was imposed last week because of extreme dry conditions, and was reassessed last evening.
The province says a review of current wildfire conditions means that the ban will remain in effect until 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday.
The ban will be reviewed again at that time based on the wildfire index and fire behaviour.
