The inflation rate dropped across Canada but went up in Newfoundland and Labrador last month.
Nationally, the cost of living decreased to 1.7 per cent from 1.9 but in this province, the rate increased to 1.6 per cent from 1.2.
Statistics Canada attributes the decline nationally to lower gas prices. Gasoline is down by 16 per cent, largely due to the elimination of the carbon tax.
Costs rose 3.4 per cent annually at grocery stores.
