The provincial government has lifted its ban on the use of off-road vehicles in forested areas where the fire risk is high.
Cooler temperatures and rainfall in many areas mean that the temporary ban will be lifted as of midnight tonight
However, the province is asking ATV and off-road vehicle users to carefully consider local conditions before heading into the woods. Off-road vehicles should also carry a fire extinguisher where possible.
The fire ban remains in place until September 7th at which time it will be reassessed.
