A full aerial attack is underway on the fire in Conception Bay North.

Clear skies are allowing eight waterbombers to work the north and western edges of the fire, along with the southern boundary.

Five heavy capacity helicopters are also working a series of steady missions to priority areas.

Ground crews are also working on the fire in the north and south boundaries.

Both the Paddy’s Pond and Martin Lake fires are considered held, allowing ground crews to work on hot spots.

Miquel Lake Access Road in central reopens

Forestry officials have since re-opened a portion of the Miquel Lake resource road. The road is only open to cabins located at Miquel Lake. Access to cabins beyond Miquel Lake, as wells as cabins in the Martin Lake and Rushy Pond areas remain closed at this time.
