The fire in Conception Bay North saw no growth yesterday and water bombers were able to concentrate on active areas.
Water bombers from Quebec and Ontario worked the north and western edges of the fire yesterday, eventually moving to the southern boundary. They were eventually replaced by four NL water bombers which worked into the evening hours.
Ground crews also concentrated on the northern and southern boundaries of the fire.
Good news on the other two major fires in the province, both Paddy’s Pond and Martin Lake are now considered to be held. Further growth is not anticipated, and ground crews will continue their work today.
