A man from Sheshatshiu is spending the weekend behind bars after several buildings and vehicles were set ablaze Friday morning.
The fires spread a lot of damage in the area of McKenzie Drive, but RCMP say nobody was injured.
Officers from Happy Valley-Goose Bay and a police dog helped out, arresting a 24-year-old man. He has been charged with arson and mischief.
Police say the Sheshatshiu Fire Department’s quick response prevented the fire from spreading to additional structures, or into nearby brush and trees.
