Firefighters are facing continued smoky conditions on the northern and western boundaries of the fire on the Conception Bay North Shore.
A dozen ground crew from Newfoundland and Labrador, 20 from Ontario, and 42 from British Columbia are tackling hot sports with the help of heavy capacity helicopters.
Water bombers are on the ready to work the fire if needed.
Despite a drop in the fire’s activity and intensity, it’s still considered to be out of control.
Residents who have returned to some areas where the evacuation alert has been lifted can expect to see continued smoke in some areas.
The size of the fire is close to 11,000 hectares.
Both the Paddy’s Pond and Martin Lake fires are listed as under control.
