Quebec Premier Francois Legault is in the province for meetings with Premier John Hogan and his officials.
Hogan has confirmed he will be meeting with Legault tomorrow on a range of issues, not the least of which is the new Churchill Falls MOU announced earlier this year between the two provinces.
Hogan was coy on specifics, but suggested the meetings will also consist of a little relationship-building.
“I’m happy that he’s coming back to Newfoundland and Labrador” says Hogan, “certainly had some great meetings with him over the last few months while we attended the premiers’ meetings, but it’s a good time now to talk one-on-one..about our relationship between newfoundland and Labrador and Quebec.”
Formal signing of the final Churchill agreements is still scheduled for next spring, although officials, including Hogan, have since described that timeline as “aggressive.”
