The launch of Canada’s first sub-orbital rocket from the Burin Peninsula has been scrubbed for today.

The countdown resumed just after 6 p.m. NL time, with about a window of opportunity left.

But the clock stopped again with 58 seconds to go before launch due to an ignition problem, according to information on the live stream provided by NordSpace.

A short time later, a statement was issued on its live stream feed.

“Unfortunately that’s a wrap for today. Our misfire detection system seems to have acted incorrectly. We will solve the issue and get back to the pad asap. We’ll release more information soon.”
