The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is urging parents to have regular conversations with school kids about the effects of drug and alcohol use as back-to-school season rears around the corner.
Students are set to get back to school later this week, and the RNC is ramping up patrols in and around schools throughout the metro region.
RNC Constable James Cadigan says they’re also hoping the public will report any suspicious activity they may see involving students.
“When it comes to children’s behaviours, it’s important that parents have conversations about risk and activities that are appropriate for children in our community,” he told the media.
“As a police service, we want the community to report any and all suspicious activity.”
