Later this month a group of 40 people from Ireland will be heading to this province as part of an event that hasn’t been held since before the pandemic.
Newfoundland and Labrador Irish Connections has been happening since 2007.
Every year, either a group of people from this province will go to Ireland, or people from that country will come here, staying in people’s homes, as part of a cultural exchange.
Board chair Ralph Tapper says the program came to a halt during the pandemic, and this is the first time the trip will happen since 2019.
Tapper says some 40 people are slated to come here on September 16th.
There are numerous events planned for the visitors in the metro area, as well as in Branch.
Tapper, who has participated in a few previous events, calls it a “great experience.”
He says it is all about learning about the different cultures and experiences.
