A portion of Lethbridge remains under an evacuation order after a fire broke out near Sexton Lumber yesterday afternoon.
Three water bombers were deployed to assist ground crews in tackling the blaze in the bark pile and forest adjacent to the lumberyard.
Fire Duty Officer Wes Morgan says there was no growth overnight.
He says estimates indicate the fire is about a hectare in size and did spread into the nearby forest. Suppression efforts consisting of ground crews and a helicopter are on site today.
Nearby residents who have been ordered to evacuate are being accommodated at Anthony Paddon Elementary School in Musgravetown.
