The province-wide fire ban will remain in effect until at least Friday.
The decision comes after a new fire was reported yesterday near Sexton’s Lumber in Lethbridge.
Government says the decision also takes into consideration continued dry conditions throughout the province.
Even though the daily wildfire risk varies from region to region, the department of forestry says continuing the ban helps to reduce the risk and supports crews battling active fires.
A decision on the status of the ban will be made on Friday.
