Investigators from the Transportation Safety Board will be in St. John’s today to assess a cargo ship that ran aground in Nunavut several weeks ago.
The board says the vessel Rosaire A. Desgagnés had 25 people on board when it ran aground on August 23rd while en route to a remote area with community resupply cargo.
The ship was refloated at high tide and anchored for a damage assessment.
The vessel is currently on its way to St. John’s on its own. Once here crews with the TSB will begin work on the site.
