The provincial government has partnered with School Sports NL to launch a new course for junior high and high school students to promote safe sporting environments.
The Safe Sport in Education Course must be completed by all student athletes in grades 7-12.
They must submit a course completion certificate and sign a contract in order to participate in team activities.
Government says the course has been designed to foster safer and more respectful sporting environments in the school community.
