It’s a tradition that has brought smiles to faces in St. John’s for nearly four decades. On October 5th, thousands of rubber ducks will once again race down Rennie’s River for the 37th Annual Duck Race, a community fundraiser.
This year, the event is presented by Quidi Vidi Brewery, adding local flavor to the festivities.
Shantille Butler, the executive director of The Quidi Vidi/Rennie’s River Development Foundation, says the money raised goes toward, among other things, their environmental education programs.
The current fee has not changed in ten years despite significant cost pressures, so the funds from the duck race help keep fees low. They also plan on modernizing and refurbishing the exhibits at the Fluvarium over the next few years.
There are several ways to get tickets by going online or by calling or 709-754-3474. Quidi Vidi Brewery will also have tickets there for sale.
