A man who was deemed too drunk to fly has been charged with being too drunk to drive.
Airport officials barred a man from boarding an aircraft in Happy Valley-Goose Bay on Tuesday and alerted law enforcement to the possibility that he may have been driving impaired.
RCMP were contacted about a man, described as drunk, who had left the airport property in a pickup after being blocked from boarding a flight because of his level of intoxication.
Police located the vehicle in question and pulled it over. The 25-year-old driver, who was arrested for impaired, was taken to the detachment where he provided breath samples that were more than two-and-a-half times the legal limit.
His licence was suspended and he was released to appear in court November 20th.
