The Chief Electoral Officer will speak with media this morning about changes that have been made ahead of the general election on October 14.
The last election, which was called in January 2021 was mired in controversy.
The process for the pandemic election came to a screeching halt as the second wave of COVID took hold, resulting in level 5 lockdowns across the province.
The election was supposed to be held the day before Valentines Day, but the results wouldn’t be known until nearly the end of March.
Difficulties with the mail-in ballot system resulted in several court challenges that weren’t resolved until earlier this year.
Officials at elections NL will detail “key changes and improvements” made ahead of this year’s election at 10:30 this morning.
