Former Premier Andrew Furey has been appointed to the New Found Gold board of directors, a BC-based mining company with interests in central Newfoundland.
Furey resigned as Premier earlier this year, and left his role as an MHA shortly thereafter, returning to private life as a surgeon.
Now, Furey has been named as an independent director of the board.
Board chair Paul Andre Huet says Furey brings “a tremendous depth of knowledge and experience to the company at a pivotal time” as they advance toward production.
The company is currently undertaking a project known as Queensway in the central region.
