A woman is in a heap of trouble after somebody stole merchandise from a business in the centre city area of St. John’s last night, then hopped in a taxi to get away before police arrived.
RNC stopped the taxi with the woman still inside, but she refused to comply with orders to step outside. Things heated up when she tried to disarm one of the officers.
They eventually got her to the lockup where she spent the night. The 40-year-old will appear today on charges of resisting arrest, attempting to disarm an officer, and breaching court orders.
