A woman is facing charges after trying to force her way into a home in Mount Pearl while armed with a knife.

Police were called around 10:40 yesterday morning to reports to a woman with a knife who was trying to gain access to the home.

The 30-year-old was arrested on charges of possession of a weapon and two counts of uttering threats.

She was held for court.
