NAPE has been assured that presumptive cancer care for wildland firefighters is still on the agenda as the election campaign continues.
NAPE President Jerry Earle expressed disappointment yesterday after measures to better equip and prepare volunteer first-responders for future wildfires were announced by the Liberal Party during a campaign stop in Gander.
Earle had expected to hear something about resumptive cancer care for wildland firefighters in yesterday’s campaign promises.
He told the Tim Powers Show yesterday, he’s since learned that the issue is on the party’s agenda.
He says the premier has confirmed that that announcement is forthcoming.
