NL Health Services says a new urgent care centre in the west end of the capital city region is set to open late this year.
The facility, on Topsail Road in Mount Pearl next to Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, is intended to take some of the pressure off hospital emergency rooms by treating patients with unexpected, but non life-threatening ailments like fever and infections or injuries like sprains and strains.
A similar facility is opening to patients next month in the old Costco building in the capital city’s east end.
