A man accused of committing a robbery is in even more trouble after deciding to throw hands with the officers trying to arrest him.

Police were called to a robbery in the downtown area around 8:40 last night.

The suspect was spotted at a nearby park where officers attempted to arrest him.

The 47-year-old began fighting with police, prompting more officers to respond to the situation.

He was eventually arrested and charged with armed robbery, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, resisting arrest and breach of probation.
