The province’s second city will have a new mayor come next Thursday, but it has been difficult for the two candidates to get their message out.
Linda Chaisson and Pamela Gill are running for the top job in Corner Brook.
Chaisson delivered printouts to households in the city before any disruption in the delivery of unaddressed mail, but not all items got to their intended destination.
That forced Plan B.
She found that when she visited some of the streets that the flyers did not get there, so then she had to find out which streets were left out in order to reach as many voters as possible.
Pamela Gill printed cards asking voters what matters to them in this election, with the option of mailing them back to her. However, she did not get them out before CUPW’s refusal to deliver unaddressed mail.
She has been putting a lot of miles on her shoes trying to make up the difference by delivering the flyers herself.
