An organization which speaks for those who have trouble getting around has invited the three political leaders to a forum tomorrow night to discuss the issues as they pertain to them.
The Coalition of Persons with Disabilities says the forum will provide a platform to discuss issues such as policy concerns, program gaps, and systemic barriers that affect the lives of persons with disabilities.
Nancy Reid, executive director of COD-NL, says scheduling challenges have prevented all of the leaders from committing to the event.
The organization has been asking government to create an ombudsman specific to their community, similarly to the Children’s Advocate and Seniors’ Advocate, but so far that has not happened.
Monday’s forum takes place at the Holiday Inn starting at 7:00, and all are welcome.
