A group advocating for pet owners in the province is concerned about the effects of corporate control on vet clinics.
The PetOwners Collective recently made a call for the provincial portion of HST on vet bills to be eliminated.
Co-chair Mike Keough says another concern for them is that many clinics throughout the province are being bought up as “investment opportunities.”
He says investment is good, but the purpose for investors is to make money and that will be done by either increasing prices or decreasing services. He is calling on the province to do a study into the impact of control on those clinics.
