October is Foster Families Month and Foster Families of Newfoundland and Labrador is once again putting out the call for homes to provide children with stability, love and guidance at an otherwise difficult time.

Executive Director Kelli Hodder admits, the need is great and the number of individuals or families coming forward has continued to drop.

She says they’ve seen a lag in the last few years, “we have not had the uptake that we would like to see on new homes coming forward, so we are actively recruiting.”
