The final phase of work to upgrade and replace aging water and sewer lines under one of the continent’s oldest streets will take place this fall and coming spring.
The Water Street infrastructure project in the capital city’s downtown has been ongoing, in phases, since 2018, with the most recent phase completed back in 2023.
The final step will involve the trenchless installation of pipe liner in the sewer line between Queen Street and Prescott Street.
Initial exploratory work will take place this fall.
The main construction work is set for this coming spring with traffic disruptions expected. The work is expected to be completed before the start of the summer tourist season.
