A 38-year-old woman has been charged after smashing her way into an abandoned home in downtown St. John’s.

Police were called about a possible break and enter over the supper hour yesterday. When officers arrived, they noticed a window had been smashed and found a woman inside.

The house was later cleared by officers and the police dog.

The woman was arrested and charged for unlawfully being inside a dwelling.
