The Liberal party has released it’s full election platform, titled ‘Our Plan for Newfoundland and Labrador.’
The document, which is over 50 pages long, was released at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, mere hours before the live leaders’ debate.
The platform focuses on four “key priority areas,” all of which encompass commitments made over the last few weeks on things like Churchill Falls, health care, and the cost of living.
The full document can be read online.
The PC Party has released its 41-page Blue Book, campaign platform, containing more than $284-million in promises, in addition to a commitment for four new ferries, which do not have a dollar-figure attached.
The PCs say they will repurpose millions in dollars currently being spent on things like a UK soccer sponsorship deal, the money going to agencies for travel nurses, the tens of millions spent on a sole-sourced contract for the old Airport Comfort Inn, and the Premier’s Offices in Boston and Grand Falls – Windsor. They will also eliminate what they call the “political slush fund,” known as the Future Fund.
Among the PCs priorities are; making MUN more fiscally responsible, advocating for tougher laws and penalties for repeat criminals, and seeking full transparency on the Churchill Falls MOU with Hydro-Québec.
Meanwhile the NDP has already released its platform which can also be viewed online.
