A shelter in place order has been lifted in the centre city area.

Residents in the Lemarchant Road, Lime Street, Livingstone Street and Barters Hill area were asked to stay indoors this morning with windows and doors closed and locked.

The area of Cabot Street was blocked off while police responded to the scene.

A shelter in place order has been issued for a large portion of the centre city area of St. John’s.

Residents in the Lemarchant Road, Lime Street, Livingstone Street and Barters Hill area are asked to stay indoors with windows and doors closed and locked.

The RNC is also asking that people not share photos of police in the area on social media.

The area of Cabot Street has been blocked off while police respond to the scene.
