The annual VOCM Cares Thanksgiving Food Drive is well underway with lots of time left to give a donation to help those who need it.
The food drive, in partnership with Sobeys and Metrobus, is in support of the Community Food Sharing Association.
Development coordinator with the VOCM Cares Foundation, Sarah Newell, cites stats from the association that it costs $324 per week to feed a family of four – so every little bit helps.
She says last year the campaign brought in over 9,000 pounds of food with a total cash value of over $32,300. She says it is a really big campaign that does a lot for people heading into the holiday season.
People can drop off donations at Sobeys locations across the metro area, and aboard Metrobuses.
